Congresswoman Jen Kiggans visited Norfolk International Airport on November 17, 2025, to meet with TSA officers at the 49-day mark of the government shutdown. Against Giants Labor Advocates coordinated this constituent services event to ensure federal employees had direct access to their congressional representative.
Officers shared their experiences and concerns about backpay processing, bonus eligibility, and the impact the extended period without pay was having on their families. Kiggans listened directly to the workforce about conditions at the checkpoint and the financial strain the shutdown was creating.
