Representative Bobby Scott met with TSA officers at Norfolk International Airport on October 31, 2025, to hear directly about the challenges federal employees were facing during the government shutdown. Officers working without pay had the opportunity to share their experiences with their elected representative face to face.
Representative Scott provided lunch for officers working without pay during the visit. Against Giants Labor Advocates coordinated the engagement to ensure TSA officers had direct access to their congressional representative at a time when that access mattered most.
The visit was one of the first in a series of congressional engagements AG coordinated at Virginia airports throughout the FY2026 DHS funding lapse, establishing a model of direct constituent access that continued across multiple airports and members of Congress in the weeks that followed.
